Thread bar are usually protected by fitting a pipe over the bar and grouting it with cement on site.
The smooth bars for shear key application are normally supplied in a HDPE tube injected with grease.
Other corrosion protections are available as per customer's specification: plain, galvanizing, H.D.G, Epoxy, etc. These various types of protection may be applied on site or in a workshop.
